- This appears to be based off Google Maps, which definitely isn't in the public domain. No fair use claim. Mackensen (talk) 02:39, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: No consensus to delete - defaults to Keep. My 2p: a low-resolution outline of the United States is not a copyrightable map. Dianna (talk) 19:13, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- No source and incorrect licence. This is not ineligible for copyright. Heavily used image. Stefan2 (talk) 12:51, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The flag certainly isn't copyrightable, which leaves only the outline of the US. Is that copyrightable? I'm not sure, given how generic the outline is. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 03:50, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- It says that this is from the 1950s and that it is in the public domain because the copyright to photos expires 50 years after creation in Fiji. However, in that case, the photo didn't enter the public domain until the 21st century. This is not enough; the URAA date was 1 January 1996, so the postcard is still copyrighted in the United States. Stefan2 (talk) 16:10, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete, although English Wikipedia doesn't really care about copyright law in the U.K. (Wikipedia:Non-U.S. copyrights). Regardless, it's doubly copyrighted in the U.S. (both the poster and the design of the sculpture). Kaldari (talk) 18:24, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I appreciate actually receiving an explanation behind WHY another postmark from a remote coal town in WV could be copy right violation. Delete it. Delete it now. I have another Postmark that has no stamp in it. I however resent the fact that the last time this happened and yes, it was you I received no explanation. None. AND I have to say you do a great bang up job of frustrating people and not explaining why. This time you did! Thank you, Kind of how things work, I ask why, I get told it the law and then BEHOLD, you actually explain to me the exact spec. Thanks. HOWEVER IF YOU DONT TELL A SOUL THE FIRST TIME AROUND you are NOT helping or encouraging ANYONE to contribute to Wikipedia. Providing zero feedback and transmitting an edict, NOT HELPFUL PLEASE GOD dont tell me your an engineer or build anything. - I am sincerely appreciative of the link and data you provided. As I noted in my previous remarks, IF a person, had stated just what you did, it would be OK and swell and I would have learned how to be a better editor or article creator in a more informed fashion. I will make mistakes, I will continue to learn and contribute, BUT I will not take it up the chuffer when a person decides out of the blue to state NO reason at all why an article is not valid or fails a Wikipedia standard. Those are called edicts and those are useless. Additionally, tghe previous matter was corrected, BUT, (here is the fun), we had a debate as to how much of a design could be in an image to state, of its a not a potential copyright violation. That was fun. There does not appear to be a specific percentage and thus it was up to the collective determination and opinion of the favorite game show we call, how I think it looks because what you think does not matter. As I state on my user page, I sincerely wish to preserve communities in remote areas of the United States. I will do so. I will follow the rules, I will learn, but my life has taught me, misery at the hands of a useless opinoon is optional. Again, I very much appreciate the data you provided. I wish you had spotted the first incident, but alas that did not happenCoal town guy (talk) 16:05, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
